Create A Positive Home Environment This Holiday Season

Create A Positive Home Environment This Holiday Season

The holidays are here and, for some, it can be a stressful time. Whether or not you are expecting visitors, you can implement any one of the strategies below to invite positivity into your home this holiday season.

Set Positive Intentions. Hold the intention for good outcomes at festive gatherings. In so doing, you increase your optimism and help create the positive outcomes you seek. "What you seek is seeking you" explains Rumi. Through your optimism you emit vibrations of energy that can be picked up and felt by other people. You infuse your environment with high "feel good" energy!

Light Up Someone's Soul. When was the last time you told a friend or household member how much he or she means to you? One of the best gifts you can give someone is your sincere expression of your love and gratitude. This form of expression can light up someone with joy and ultimately light up your home with warmth and love. Watch video below to see what happens when people unexpectedly pay each other a compliment.

Send Love: Visualize yourself sending love (whatever that looks like and feels like for you) to the people in your home. When you send love to others you connect with them on a spiritual level. The energy of love is very powerful. It is healing and transformative. According to the Law of Love, love eventually perfects all. When we come from a place of love we flow with the divine order of the universe.

Clear Out Negative Energy: If you have never heard of the practice of saging or smudging, it has been around for centuries and is a powerful way to clear your space of stagnant and negative vibrations. Check out this article for 5 easy steps to smudging your home.

Not only are these strategies effective during the holiday season, you can use them all year round.

Happy Holidays!

Top 10 Ways To Lead By Example

Whether you want to create change at work or in your home life, you can influence others when you lead by example. Through your actions, which are aligned with what you say, you become a person others want to follow.

When you say one thing but do another, you erode trust, a critical element of healthy relationships. Here are 10 of the dozens of ways to lead by example.

1. Take responsibility. Blame costs you your credibility, keeps others on the defensive and ultimately sabotages real growth.

2. Be truthful. Inaccurate representation affects everyone. Show that honesty really IS the best policy.

3. Be courageous. Walk through fire (a crisis) first. Take calculated risks that demonstrate commitment to a larger purpose.

4. Acknowledge failure. It makes it OK for others to do the same and defines failure as part of the process of becoming extraordinary.

5. Be persistent. Go over, under or around any hurdles to show that obstacles don’t define you or your team (whether it is your team at work or at home).

6. Create solutions. Don’t dwell on problems; instead be the first to offer solutions and then ask your team for more.

7. Listen. Ask questions. Seek to understand. You’ll receive valuable insights and set a tone that encourages healthy dialogue.

8. Delegate liberally. Encourage an atmosphere in which people can focus on their core strengths.

9. Take care of yourself. Exercise, do not overwork, take a break. A balanced team, mentally and physically, is a successful team. Model it, encourage it, support it!

10. Roll up your sleeves. Like Alexander the Great leading his men into battle, you’ll inspire others to greatness.

Let Freedom Ring! Stop Holding Yourself Prisoner

One day a man was walking down the street on his way to work. As he walked down the street, there were dogs on just about every front porch and they would bark as the man walked by.

However, there was one dog just sitting there whimpering, whining and moaning.

The man wondered why this dog wasn't barking like the other dogs and why he was whimpering. He couldn't figure it out, so he just kept walking to work.

The next day he was walking down the street and heard all the other dogs barking EXCEPT the same dog who was moaning and groaning just as he had been doing the day before.

The man walked past for an entire week and every day the dog would be there moaning and groaning. Finally, he went over to the owner who was sitting on the porch and asked,

“Sir, is there something wrong with your dog? He's been sitting here moaning and groaning, whimpering and whining for an entire week."

The owner said, "Well, he's actually sitting on a nail."

"What!" exclaimed the man. "Why doesn't he get off?"

"Well, it just doesn't hurt him bad enough" replied the owner.

This dog is like most people who feel pained by their current situation ... a job they hate, an unhealthy body they want to get in shape, a city they no longer want to live in ... Yet, as months turn into years they remain in a situation, moaning and groaning, whimpering and whining.

Perhaps they are not hurting bad enough to get up and do something about it. So they remain in a prison of their own making.

This Fourth of July, set yourself FREE by taking the first step to getting off that nail! Sign your own Declaration of Independence.

Declare yourself free from small thinking, indecision, doubts, other people's opinions, scarcity, and fear-based thoughts that hold you back. Let freedom ring! Embrace BIG thinking, decisiveness, self-confidence, abundance, and positive thinking that allows you to unleash your authentic brilliance.

Spring Clean! Release The Old

Spring is here and what a great time to release the old from your life!

Recently, I was guided by signs from the Universe to "cut the cord," on a toxic situation and release the old energy. Ultimately, I cleared out the associated items from my home, reorganized my space, and soaked in a salt bath.

Release The Old
If you are holding on to a situation that no longer serves you, it may be time for you to release the old from your life.

The situation may be a job, a relationship (business or personal), or a living space. Listen to your recurring thoughts and feelings about the situation. What are they telling you? Are they telling you to let go?

Are you holding on to a person or situation that seems to be letting go of you? These may be signs for you to release the old.

Create Space For The New
When you cut the cord and release the old, you create space for new opportunities to come into your life. Removing old items from your home or work space can be a great first step to releasing the old.

Sing, pray or listen to empowering music during the process. Doing so will help you feel empowered as you take inspired action to create your next chapter!

After clearing and reorganizing your space, relax in the tub, journal about your experience, or write affirmations about the positive, new experiences you intend to create.
